About You

We are looking for a consultant to join our growing Wellington office. This individual will help bolster our public policy and evaluation offering; both leading individual projects and supporting larger consulting assignments as part of a project team.

To be successful in this role you'll need have an understanding of public policy, and get a kick out of working through tricky problems to come up with actionable advice and recommendations.

In return you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience while working flexibly across a range of different topic areas.

You will also be able to draw on support from our team of over 60 Consultants and support staff who have a wealth of in-depth knowledge and skills in public policy, evidence, insights and analysis; strategy, design and performance; and finance and economics.

Who are we looking for?

The kind of person of person we are looking for will likely have:

  • Public policy experience in central or local government (2-5 years)
  • The ability to apply appropriate frameworks (e.g. policy, evaluative or economic), and think at a systems level
  • Excellent project management and ability to work with uncertainty
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).

We are particularly keen in meeting candidates who have:

  • Te reo Māori competency and experience in kaupapa Māori environments
  • Experience working at multiple organisations or in a Minister's office
  • Experience in strategy development
  • Ability to visualise complex advice / data
