Leadership opportunity in our finance and economics advisory practice

MartinJenkins provides trusted financial and economic advice that senior leaders in the public and private sectors can rely on when making critical policy and business decisions.

We're looking for an exceptional senior practitioner to take a lead role in our finance and economics advisory practice - someone who is widely recognised as a professional leader in their field and who our clients and staff will look to as a credible, trusted advisor.

About MartinJenkins

At MartinJenkins, we work on some of the most pressing issues facing New Zealand today - such as mitigating and adapting to climate change, eliminating family and sexual violence, and using land sustainably. We have deep experience in areas such as regulatory reform, local government financing, organisational performance and economic development.

Our work spans a wide range of industries and sectors - from agriculture to arts and culture, from energy to education, from social services to science and technology.

Our finance and economics advisory team supports clients with:

  • feasibility studies, business cases and budget initiatives
  • cost-benefit and regulatory impact analysis
  • funding and pricing reviews
  • financial modelling, cost analysis and value-for-money assessments.

About this opportunity

Working alongside other members of our team, as Practice Lead you will be leading marketing and business development activities and growing a healthy pipeline of consulting opportunities.

You will be delivering high-quality consulting services, maintaining excellent client relationships, and helping to further develop our services and capability.

The person we're looking for

MartinJenkins employs exceptional people - people who bring fresh thinking to old problems, who have deep understanding of some of New Zealand's most complex systems, markets and institutions, and who can apply their knowledge and specialist skills to help make a difference for New Zealanders.

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • are motivated to build a successful consulting practice
  • are able to engage credibly with and influence senior leaders and decision makers
  • have strong networks in Wellington and are able to attract a portfolio of clients, and
  • have significant knowledge and experience of public-sector financial management, economics or related disciplines.

MartinJenkins is something different - Are you?

We are a mid-sized New Zealand-owned consultancy with experienced, self-starting staff who work collaboratively with our clients as trusted advisors. We're good listeners, focus on our clients' needs and the complexities they face, and apply our sharp analytical skills and judgement to solve problems. We meet tough challenges with a can-do approach, a partnership style, and innovative, pragmatic thinking that produces results.

As an employer, we value our people, their expertise and their diverse experiences. We invest in our people to support further learning and professional development. We offer competitive remuneration, flexible working arrangements and a collaborative working environment.

If you're sharp, savvy and naturally curious, if you take your work seriously but not yourself, and if you share our vision of making New Zealand a better place, you'll fit right into our stimulating environment.
